You Asked. Now You Shall Receive.

Well, all good things must come to an end. My momma - who flew in (yes, that's FLEW in...as in hopped on a plane just to be with me) - the moment she heard my bad news last week, is leaving today. Which means that I will now have to wash my own clothes and maybe even cook a meal.

What's a girl to do?

I loved having her here, though. That's for sure. And it will be a quiet week next week without her. She does me good.

Mamma's of the world out there, TAKE NOTE! She is strong and mouthy and funny and kind and sensitive and sweet and fierce and firm. The woman's got it all. And she came when I needed her. So, top that!

Electric Elizabeth (from the Medical University of South Caroline - which sounded so professional I just HAD to put it) asked: What kind of work does your husband do?

Well, Elizabeth there is a reason I call him the Attorney General, although it is NOT because he is the Attorney General of Tennessee as some have asked. Now, let me just say that the way we met (which was another question of yours) was once referred to in this specific blog post. However, I believe some day I will dedicate an entire post to why it is I actually call him the AG- since so many of you have asked that question.

But back to the question at hand...My honey is an Artist Manager in the world of Contemporary Christian Music. An artist manager is alot like an "agent" that an actor/actress might have. They do primarily the same thing; manage the artists' career, help make decisions, decide on tours, help in the artists' dealings with the record label and pretty much be the all-around "go-to" guy.

On top of that he graduated Law School 2 years ago and has now added Entertainment Attorney to his resume. I assumed for four years this meant we would be rich. Not so much. It did mean that we would spend the rest of our lives paying off law school bills, but hey, when we go to a party don't think I don't throw the whole "attorney" thing around.

It gets me nowhere.

Little Lidia wants to know: So, which was your favorite cardboard testimony?

The woman with MS. If you can say "totally worth it" after going through something like that - then you finally get it. I loved that one. And I cry every time.

Thank you all for sharing your personal testimony. They were all so great. I loved the one that one friend left, back: Full-time People Pleaser / front: Now Full-time God Seeker.
Wow! Loved that one.

Jaunty Jenny asked: So are you going to announce that I won the The Same Kind of Different As Me on your Friday Q&A?

Well, Jenny, let me start by saying, I'm not sure what jaunty means, but if you look it up and it's good - I meant it. If it's bad - I am terribly embarrassed.

No, I am not going to announce that you won the book. Mainly because I haven't had a winner yet. I wanted to leave this post up for a while and let others add their name to the mix before a winner was selected. ALSO - and this is good news - I now have a second book to give away. Our sweet friend Trish has offered to throw her book into the mix since she loved it so much and feels like giving it away was a super cool idea. So as soon as hers gets to me via USPS then we're off to the races!

* On another note...several of you have sent me emails over the last few weeks chocked full of questions regarding Elisha. I have referred to Elisha many times over these last few weeks and I just realized that I have never really told the story of him and how he came to be.

Elisha's story is a beautiful one. And personally I can't wait to share it with you. But hopefully when you read about him it will be in the book that I have been working on for some time now. In fact, you would be surprised at how the story of Elisha and the adoption of Remi co-incide so beautifully - it really is a powerful story. And I am really proud to tell it.

And even if the only people who ever read it are you all, my in-laws and my Granny - it will have been well worth it. Writing it has been therapeutic.

And I LOVE to tell the story of him.
And her.

So would you mind holding off for that? Since I've worked on it so long and really poured my heart in to it, I'd love to share it with you that way. (Right now my husband is rolling his eyes at this sentence since he has begged me to finish it for one solid year and I have yet too. But that's why I'm telling you all. So you'll drive me crazy until I do it. Because who doesn't want a couple hundred people breathing down their neck? I mean, I do.)

And thanks to all of you who have written me and asked about him. It makes me feel like his short life and remarkable story are important. Every time I receive an email where you've asked about him, I smile. Never apologize for your questions about him. Never. They actually mean quite a lot to me.

Well, that's all for today, my lovelies. Keep your questions coming, and as always, I will answer them if I like them, and "accidentally" lose them if I don't.

And don't get impatient with me - just because you don't see your question doesn't mean I won't answer it the next week or the next. Oh, who am I kidding? Maybe it does - I'm really moody and you can't really be sure about anything right now.

Bare with me.

Have a lovely weekend.

I realize that I tend to be one of the only males who comments on this blog.

What gives? Did I miss sort of disclaimer? Is "Stretch Marks" an equal opportunity blog or are you out there preventing men from being a part?

And where the HECK is an AG blog?

What a great idea to write a book about Elisha and Remi....
Of course all of us bloggers will read it....but it will also be something very special to pass to Remi as well.
So, I will (sort of)patiently wait while you finish it. ;)

You and your family have a great weekend as well!

Oh oh...and I'm glad your mom came out to visit you....of course she did....we may grow up but we are still our mother's babies.....

I'm glad your Momma was with you last week - we always want our Momma's when things are down and our Momma's always want to be there.

I wondered about Elisha's story as well - I can't wait to hear it!

I can't wait to read the book!!! C'mon hurry and finish it! Hahaha, I am kidding of course. Or am I? Ha

If as many people who read your blog buy one copy then you will be rich. Don't forget the little people on your way up. You just may get your second call from Oprah after it is all said and done. When your book turns into a movie can I be considered for the role as the nosey neighbor. I would be perfect! I am just saying. Think about it.

I love learning so much about the people who write the Blogs I so love to read. Thanks for sharing and for giving us a glimpse into your life.

All your talk of your Mom made me homesick. Packing up and going home. (No. I'm not kidding.)

I am failing in my attempts, Melissa. BUT...I haven't made it to the Central Market yet. It will happen later on today. I'm trying, though...if you only knew how hard. My husband has joined the mission, too.

Moving on...
Don't be telling people the AG is not the real AG. 'Cause deep down I know he will be one day. And we'll serve Julio's at the celebratory party.

No, WHERE is an AG blog. I know he's on twitter - artists blogs are all the rage in Nashville (according to brodyharper.com,) so I figured a Manager's-Blog might be cool, too.

Momma time is good when we are feeling blue. Mine made dinner several nights and handed me tissues when cried. But then, she told me to "stop it" the last time I started blubbering and I think that helped dry me up!

We should see about trading out your AG for the real AG of Tennessee. Your AG is much more handsome.

I'm staying anonymous on this one, in case the real AG reads your blog. He is a powerful man ... even if he ain't purty. I don't want him kickin' me outta the Great State of Tennessee.

Are you planning on going on a book tour when you finish that book because I would love to meet you!! Wow, that sounded kind of stalkerish!!! Haha! Well if you do, pencil in Greenville (SC not NC) on that book tour...because we are the hot spot of the South!!!
Hell if Tori Spelling can get a book deal (and tour) they'll be busting down your door!!! And I bet the AG is way hotter than Dean!!!

Okay, I'm coming your way in November and I think we should meet so you can give me the final rough draft of your book. I'll okay it and we can send it off to the publisher! Sound good? Alright. Where are we meeting? :)

We'll be knocking down the doors of Borders for your book, saying we knew her when. Watch out, Stephanie Meyer, you ain't got nothing on Melissa Lee!

I've been caught up with work (position change) the last few days and finally got to write a few posts on my own blog last night. But I wanted to say that I've checked on you every day. You are incredible. I wish we lived close...I'd bug you until you said I could be your friend.

two things.........

THE book will be on it's way to you very soon. I had one more friend here that wanted to read it, so I told her I needed it back by Monday. Then it's off to you......along with another little suprise! I'll Fed Ex it, so it will get there quickly.

Secondly........did you know that I have a little one named Cooper? AND I had picked out Elijah for his middle name? However, my husband chose Daniel as his middle name instead.

I can't wait to read the story of your Elisha Cooper. May I be on the list for the release party?

Love Ya!
