There really is nothing more honest than the words of a child.
Take my child for instance, who is a child prodigy, yes (that's a given), but also has some sort of inner depth that only Billy Graham's kids or maybe Moses' sons had. Either way - she's a wonder.
So for the first time the other night she asked to pray over our meal. And as we closed our eyes and bowed our heads we heard words that we long to say because they're short and sweet and pretty much to the point.
"Thank you, God. And help me, Jesus. Amen."
There are a few preachers who should take a lesson.
Happy weekend, everybody!

Aww, isn't she sweet? Adults may be more elloquent, but those kiddos really know what they're talking about!
I think I'm gonna need to write that prayer down.
Outta the mouths of babes! I find myself uttering that prayer several times a day lately! Wonderfully sweet post... thanks for an uplifting way to start the weekend!

Doesn't get much simpler than that or more perfect!! Love it!
Just think if we could get America to take 2 seconds out of each day to pray that prayer how much better off we would be!
Be Blessed!

So cute and smart she is!
SO CUTE! My son came up with this one at the table one evening when he was 3 or 4....
1,2,3,4,5,6,7 If I be good, I'll go to heaven. AMEN!!!
I love kids!!!
My third daughter's first prayer at the supper table was:
Dear God,
Thank you for food.
Thank you for Mommy.
Thank you for boys.
Amen
She was two.
Absolutely beautiful.
Isnt it amazing how honest and beautiful Kids words can be. God Bless her!!
Beautiful. Daddy would be proud. He says supper ain't no time for catching up on missed prayers.
Precious! Out of the mouths of babes, huh?
That pretty much sums it up!
I guess you'll be calling on her more often now to bless the meal...
how adorable.
What a great prayer! Gotta love the to-the-point-honesty of kids.
Have a blessed week!
