I Heart Sarah. I Double Heart Tina.

I realize it seems kind of cavalier to post this video of my best friend, Tina, after something as horrendous as hurricane Ike, this past weekend. But I figured some of us could use a good laugh.

We did end up talking to my folks late Sunday night. They have been out of power for almost 24 hours, no phone service either - and we were getting curious as to how everyone was doing. But my mom assured us that everyone in the family took refuge at their house since my dad had a generator and all were doing well.

As she said, "We are all fine...I made some chicken gumbo and a pecan pie and we just had a good time." Yep, that's my family folks. They rode out the storm by feasting on various types of pies, brownies and southern creole.

Ike ain't got nothin' on my mamma's cookin'.
Of course, even a hurricane doesn't have enough gale force wind to go head to head with my family of 12 who are all laid up eating gumbo. Talk about wind. I would have been far more fearful of them.

So here's a video that my play BFF, Tina, made after our fun weekend together eating cookie dough and shoe shopping. I was the one who told her to throw in that whole "imaginary rifle pose." Yep, that was me. She steals half my jokes.

So enjoy!

I thought the imaginary rifle pose was GENIUS!(Well done Melissa!) Best part of the skit! I actually caught it Saturday night, but couldn't pass up watching it again here! So funny :)

I loved this. Saw it when it aired on Saturday night. Enjoyed it again today. Could they have picked a better person to look like Palin, I think not. I love how these two play off each other anyway.
Gosh, I miss the SNL days of Will Ferrell and Horatio Sans and Jimmy Fallon and Rachel Drach. Those were the times I loved to watch because they would always crack each other up on camera.

Unfortunately we can't see the video here in Canada. It kinda makes me feel like less of a neighbour somehow. Hmmm. Oh well.

Love the post on your family though! That's hilarious!

Copycat. I posted mine at midnight, so I win.

And Tina's my friend. She is family. She graduated from the same university as my husband. Do not try to steal my bond with Tina. And Alice, her daughter, whom I adore.

Funny!!
But even funnier is the comments between you and Lula!

glad to hear that your family is all fine after Ike........
do you get a tad envious when they are all together (even though they just weathered a storm!) and you are not there.
my whole family lives about 4 hours from me and any time I call and the sibs are at mom and dads for I get a little green with envy. Yeah, so they could have all just been at a funeral together, but it still makes me jealous.

So glad to hear your family is ok. M&D are in Houston. M&D don't get worked up about a whole lot of things. I was really relieved when Mom finally called yesterday.
Me: So, what was it like?
Mom: Well, we had some wind and rain.
Me: Really? Because it looked on the radar like the eye went right over you.
Mom: Oh, yeah, we woke up as the eye was going over. It was really quiet and kind of creepy, and then it started to rain again.

Understatement of the day. But, they are ok! No power, but a generator and hot water, so they are better than most!

And I can see Russia from my house.

My favorite line. I must have watched that video 15 times since Saturday night, such a classic.
