Dear Dad.

Hi Daddy!

Momma says you are out of town working. Is that really true? Because sometimes when I ask where you are momma says, "He's took a big airplane to go to work this morning..." but then other times when I ask she says, "...he's laid up in a 4 star hotel, ordering room service. For his job." But she says that party kinda funny...like when she calls me a "smarty pants."

So which is it? Are you working or are you acting fancy? I don't really like either of those things.

I prefer you come home and let me ride on your back. I think that is much more fun. Don't you?

Plus, when you are gone momma acts really funny. Like, this morning she went to her water aerobics class and said she felt good because she had worked out.

But then when we went to Food Lion the only thing she bought was Double Stuff Oreo's.

When it was time for my nap she was looking for me all over the house and she found me hiding in the pantry with the Cheetos. She said, "Remi! What did I say? I said NO MORE CHEETOS. We don't just eat chips whenever we want. They are a TREAT!"

But then when I woke up from my nap I came downstairs and she had fallen asleep on the couch with the bag on her chest.

She got on to me and told me "NO MORE MAX and RUBY! NO MORE T.V."

But then she watched three episodes of those old golden ladies, back to back.

Hey daddy, what'supwiththat?

I like it better when you're here. She cleans up the kitchen and washes my clothes. Today when we couldnt' find anything clean to wear she said, "It's okay baby, put it on. Who have we got to impress?"

But then cried when nothing in her closet fit her.

I think she's losing her mind. Don't you wanna come home now?

Probably not.

Oh, and then she got mad at me because I didn't want to play outside, because CLEARLY I have nothing to play with in my backyard.

But daddy, I was HOT! Really hot. And she should understand because when she opened the door to let me in she said, "Remi, get in here. It's so hot my hair is fallin'. My hair is fallin'." And daddy, I'm not so sure it was falling or she just had forgotten to wash it.

Would you please come home and check on her? She misses you real bad. I know this because tonight when we were saying our prayers she prayed for you. She said, "And God bless Daddy in Amarillo, in his big, fancy hotel room with all the room service and pay-per-view a man could want. God bless his stinkin' little heart."

See? She adores you.

And I do too dad. Come home soon.

Love,
Your Remster

Well, I got my fix this morning. I read the morning blog and I smiled just before I left on the plane to head to your home state!
And.....I have to say that I am pleased as punch that it finally "took"! When mama calls her "The Remster" then I know it is official!....AND....it was her Aunt Kelli that gave her that name.
It just fits, ya' know? It says cuteness, lovable, precious and TROUBLE all in one. Yep. I love my little Remster! She's my doll-baby. That's for sure. See you when I get home! I'll miss you.

Love,
Your favorite Aunt in the whole world!!!!!!

Hey Remi--you know all those times we've asked you to come play with us? Come swimming with us? Come eat peanut M&Ms and watch "Lost" with us? (OK, so that's for your mommy, but anyway...) Well, we've decided we'd rather come play with you. In your backyard. While Daddy is gone. 'Cause our Mommy doesn't care if her hair falls as long as she's having a good time.

Wouldn't that be FUN?
Love,
Libbey & Caroline

Cute Post!!! Can I please come and play in your backyard? My kids now think I am a bad parent. Reply to your comment on my blog (Re: Rain Forest Cafe):

As a matter of fact, I bought 2 t-shirts and we ate there. When I say "we" I mean Craig and I because Lane was so terrified when all the animals came to life that he buried his head into my chest and wouldn't remove it until we left. Good Times!! Needless to say we will not be returning anytime soon. Total for bogus trip to Rain Forest Cafe: $1,000.00 (kidding of course).

This may not be the way you respond to comments people leave you but I am not blog-savy quite yet!!

I love posts written by the kids. I wrote one from my youngest and it is one of my favorites.

I too have a hubby who is away. He's coming home today!!! I feel your pain, and I know my girls feel Remi's.

Too funny. I share in this when my hubby's away. Particularly, when they were little, I had that twinge(well, okay, it was MORE than a twinge) of envy that he was laid up on a "Heavenly Bed" eating chocolate covered cherries and watching movies.

I prayed for you today,
Kelley

This is so cute!! I totally can relate to this!!! My husband is a firefighter and he's gone for at least 24 hours at a time. I think I take better care of kids, self and home when he is home!!

Remi,
You have got "mad skillz" with the computer gurl! I think you are a child prodigy and should be tested. And as far as the back yard goes...your momma and daddy should be ashamed. Someome should call social services cause I did not see ONE PONY out there. That is just wrong.
Now go be a sweetie and love on momma, she's a little hormonal (read=crazy) right now...

Awww! This breaks my heart! Its gotta be tough. Hold on Remi! Hold on Momma!
You always make my day with your posts. Such wit, such emotion, such spunk!

Poor daddy. It must be so tough to be an AG with all of his superman powers. I mean, come on, sure the job is tough, but don't the perks outweigh the challenges?

Who wouldn't love a trip to a 4 star with pay per view and meals at amazing restaurants?

Poor daddy. May Remi get her piggy back rides again soon.

I am going to have to try the letter from the adorable daughter trick next time my husband is out of town. 'Cause who can say no to that?

This is so stinking adorable, I can't even tell you! It's hilarious. My hubby doesn't travel for his job, but I feel like this every day.

Oh, Remi, honey, this just isn't right. Your Daddy is gone, you have no toys and you are starving to death! Sounds like it is time for a trip to Toys 'R' Us and a place with lots of Happy Meals when Daddy gets home! Ha!!

Such a CUTE post. I could totally relate because my Hubby used to travel all the time and get to stay in the fancy hotels and live it up while the kids and I were at home eatin' Mac n Cheese and Hot Dogs. Ugh I feel for you!

Hoping he's home sweet and sound quickly! Found your blog through Robin, and you are now on my prayer list, too!

Very cute and funny post...

Don't worry Remi, I'm sure your dady will be home soon and then Mummy will be as right as rain again...

Just hand in there, okay :-)

And tell your Mum I'm still praying for her..

Ah, yes, Little One. I know what your mother is going through. One day you will too when your husband goes to a fancy hotel. He'll say he's not ordering room service or swimming in the pretty pool or enjoying uninterrupted t.v....but he is.

Hey Remi, deflate that monstrous inflatable castle, tell your mom to pack up the Honda with the castle, the cheetos, and the DS Oreos, and come have a sleepover with us! Love Lauren and Emmy....Oh, and Libbey and Caroline? You can come, too. Bring your mom....and Remi, tell your mom to bring some of those sinful chips she blogged about a few weeks ago.
BTW, I got you beat on hours of TV watched. The rain has been unbelievable! When it's not raining it's to stinking hot to even think about stepping foot outside! Remi, tell your mammy I said hey!

If Grace could talk, I know she would have the save message for her Daddy, today!! Hang in there. My husband travels, often, as well. It does get lonely and hard to be the mommy and the daddy.
About the fancy hotels and room service. I am so jealous that I don't get someone making up my bed, everyday, and bringing me room service. My hubby tries to down play it, "oh honey, I would much rather be home with you. Oh honey, it isn't fun on the road." I am just not so sure, either.

yeah...it's all about frozen pizza when our Daddy's in NYC.

That backyard is impressive!!

Our house goes to poop when the hubby's away...and now that I'm out of town with the boys, I have a feeling the house is a HUGE mess with just him there. He'd better clean it before I get home...

Remi - At this point it's just best to walk up to your Momma, gently pat her on the head, and just say "Nice mommy, nice mommy" over and over.
