Power To The People.

Remember on January 1st when all of us set unrealistic expectations of how we were going to EAT HEALTHY!
LOSE WEIGHT!
NOT YELL AT OUR KIDS SO MUCH!
LOSE WEIGHT!

Yeah, me too.

But then something terrible happened. Life.

We got a new President, our economy went and crashed - big time, Mariska Hargitay had a lung collapse and so SVU was postponed for three weeks, Mamma Mia came out on DVD, Remi got a lot more "two" than is fair to any living being...okay, I think you see where I'm going with this.

Life happens and the last thing we think about is how to eat healthy and lose weight. Instead we find ourselves Googling "quick casserole recipes" and "creative ways to discipline your child without screaming and damaging vocal chords." Please someone! Tell me I'm not alone!

But just when you think you're alone...

Just when you think there is no one who understands...

Just when you think that staying up all night with indigestion and guilt is your lot in life...

Along comes the Infomercial.

Thank God for the infomercial. Had it not been for the Paid Advertisements on channel 26 from 11PM - 4AM I would never have discovered BareMinerals, the Magic Bullet or The Snuggly(yes, I have one, and I love it. I am secure in who I am.)

And now I have........drumroll please.........

Oh yeah, I am really excited about this. I mean seriously, this economy has done nothing to stifle my desire to buy carrots, strawberries, mango's and guava in bulk at Costco. And don't think people don't stare at me when I walk out of the grocery with 18 cucumbers. That's okay, I can take it. In six to eight weeks I wonder who will be laughing then? Cuz I'll be slimming down just in time for swimsuit season. Of course I'll probably be "backed up" for days on end but it's a small price, small price, to pay.

Of course, I suppose that depends on who is in the pool with me when the guava takes effect.

Hey, quick question: What infomercial has drawn you in hook, line and sinker? What item now sits in your home unused or what infomercial product can you now not remember living without?

A "clever clasp" which I ordered from TV, and some of those "green bags" which actually came from CVS but I heard about 'em on TV...both are highly recommendable!

Ah, see, there's your problem right there.

MY New Years Resolution was to watch more TV. This was to take me away from my blogging addiction. So far, I'm doing pretty well.

My sister's resolution was to watch more Nicolas Cage movies. I think she's doing well on that too.

I just saw that infomercial the other day and I wondered how much they paid those kids to drink that clumpy brown juice. And they smiled while doing it, so they are great actors. You will have to post later on how it works and all that!

I got sucked in by the Shark vacuum. Get it...sucked in....it's a nifty little thing to have, but it does not work as well as they say on TV, imagine that.

I hate ironing... so in my sick bed (with the flu last year) I was up aimlessly starring at the TV... when I saw what I had to have. The Tobi (not to be confused with the love of Remi's life, Tobey). You know the steam iron that irons 45 shirts in 2 minutes while the ironing lady being compared only gets through 2 shirts. Anyway... works good if you stand there and hold it on one spot for 45 mintues. Otherwise, I like just to heat my clothes up to 200 and burn the fabric into place.

Ok, so I haven't actually bought it...but...the ShamWow (sp?) does call my name from time to time..LOL
Oh, and the lady who mentioned the Magic Bullet...they have those at Wally World now...HA!

I got pulled in by Bare Minerals & Walk Away The Pounds with Leslie Sansone! I use both and have been pleased! I've been eyeing up ShamWow & Flirty Girl Fitness, but have managed to keep my dialing finger in my pocket so far!

Oh & have you seen the infomercial with Mr. T yet? I saw it the other night & was laughing so hard it made it even more difficult to get to sleep. If not, copy/paste this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fYEEfjw2mHk (TOTALLY WORTH IT)

The Shark Steam Mop - LOVE it! Use it all the time on our wood floors. Keep up posted on that juicer there girl, just watch the carrots! You may get that beta-carotene tan to go along with that swimsuit. =) ~Maria

I love the ultimate chopper. I broke the first week we had it (SOMEone tried to force the lid...) but I can duct tape it and it still works great. It does also make a "burning" kind of "electric" smell but I always supervise myself carefully and can't live without it (or a fire extinguisher-just in case..)

It would have to be between "Bump It" and the "Rocket Chef"....

And no. You are not alone in your lament about motherhood. Most days I cry at least once. I think to myself, "I am royally screwing these kids up." Remi is totally normal.

A good friend gave me some advice to whisper words of praise to God in her ear and affirm her in the good things she's doing. I'm going to try that.....I focus on the negative a little too often. I do praise my kids, but not enough.

The Snuggie! OMG I have no idea how I lived without it before. I heart Snuggie.

Melissa, I bought the Same juicer over the holidays and we absolutely love it and use it about three times a week. I like it because it is easy to clean!

Hugs!
