She's A Brick House.

This is Remi at 9AM. She asked for her cuppy like this,

"CUP! EEEEEEE! Right. Now. Uh,oh."

Yeah, uh,oh.

This is Remi at 1PM. She doesn't want to take a nap.

So she takes mama on an around the house whirl-wind tour.

Mama doesn't like whirl-wind tours. Or running around the house.

Mama does, however, love naps.

This is Remi at 5:30 PM. Remi is being very very mean to the dogs.

When disciplined she replies with, "Daddy, please no talk to me."

This is Remi at 7:32 PM. I told her to get out from behind the entertainment center.

She told me she was "sick and tired" of me.

For those of you who are not keeping up. Remi is 2.

OMG I love that you chronicled her time-outs! That is hysterical and so similar to my daily life, only it's a boy sitting on his bed. I tried the corner once, but I really needed him out of my sight.

Ever seen The Blair Witch Project? That is reason I get creeped out seeing anyone in the corner. No matter how cute they are!

Is that a time out record for Remi? Elizabeth just looked at the pictures with a very serious face while I explained what Remi did bad. Her response? No comment. (She tends to ignore or change the subject when she gets uncomfortable.) Hee hee.

By the way, she loves to watch Remi dancing with Woody. :)

LOL! That's fabulous!!!!!

Oooo my kids would love this - they also love to watch the Nanny to see other kids get in trouble!

This too shall pass....I've spent many days where it seemed like all I said was "Your going to timeout!" Now at 5 & 8, timeout is a rareity. But give us another year and it will be in full force again with Tres!!

Of course she's 2. If she were 3 you'd have twice as many pictures! Blessings, marlene

Oh dear... life is so hard when you're two. I mean, you rule the world, but nobody seems to have gotten the memo. ;)

LOL! So nice to know my 2 year old isn't the only one acting this way :)

I remember 2... I kinda miss it. Kinda....

Wow - It's going to be a loooong couple of years.

One day - you will appreciate her independant spirit. Of course that day is still a few decades out.
;)

Good luck!

LOL. I love the body language in the photos, especially the last one. She looks sooooo mad!

We have a designated time out spot in our house as well. Except it's not the kids that go there, it's the dogs and my Hubby too. (Just kidding about the Hubby, but it's tempting at times!!)

I am loving the nose in the corner pics. Our time out spot is on the front stairs, with nothing to look at but the front door. All my corners are filled with furniture, no place to stand.

I used to tell my kids "It's so hard to be two, I know", when they were in the midst of a fit. Then they would be really ticked.

Did you ever see Jurassic Park? Where the velociraptors keep testing the boundary fence for a weak spot? That is a two year old, testing you (constantly) for your weak spot. Don't give in, no matter the temptation. Or you'll have a tyrant velociraptor on your hands. Seriously, I have a neighbor who's daughter is one. Not pretty, or pleasant.

But Remi is so stinkin cute. Was she mad that you took her picture while in the corner?

I was going to tell you that age three is better but have to be honest, IT'S EVEN WORSE! :) Especially little girls! Keep up the good work! Just try to breathe in the mean time.

Too funny! My 2 year old son would not find the words to say that to me, although I am pretty sure he feels that way! Girls are so much more vocal that boys! My 2year old son just screams..and the Holy Spirit generally corrects him quickly-I dont usually say anything-I do the ignore trick. He comes within about 2 minutes of the total screaming fit and says " Sorry Mom" over and over until I grab him and kiss him. I just love how he apologizes all on his own!

Hehehe. Ah two. Blessed two. ;)

Uh, I can't decide if I'm glad that Henry is not little enough to give time outs to, of if I wish he was still little enough to put in time out.

Poor Remi! She's had a hard day!

Hang in there, Mom. One day she'll be gone and you'll be home alone like me. Enjoy her while you can. Even at 2!

I'm right there with you with my two year old (almost three)...and I'm hanging right in there with you. This too shall pass!

Gotta love two. My son is four and about once a week I'll hear, "I don't like you, I want a new mommy."

Some days, the feeling is mutual...

Good luck! --Brandi

Corners are a blessed thing. I hate to break it to you, but 3 is worse! I hope that's not too doom and gloom.....I finishing up my last 3 year old and am in the midst of a power struggle! Who am I talking to? You've been to my blog.....you know what I'm talking about! I wouldn't send a single one of them back, but there are days when I asked the question, "Who are you and what have you done with my sweet baby?"

Amy said...

At least she doesn't hate you yet like mine do. I get "you're so mean!!" many many times a day. Too bad mine are too big to stick in the corner, or are they?? :D

Good for you for being consistant. You'd be surprised at how much I can tell you about the discipline habits of the kids I have in my Sunday school class. It makes a world of difference in how the kids behave towards me.

Remi and Cole (2 also) would get along smashingly! He's nuts. Just plain crazy. I just don't know what to do with him!

BTW, she looks like that old paintings with the little girl feeding the dog ice cream, then in the corner!

Oh. Please. Stop. You're killing me here. I can't stop laughing. I ADORE your Remi. You couldn't BUY spirit like that. But good on you Mom. Even an independent spirit like Remi needs to be channelled to grow straight and true. But oh thank you for sharing. This will become a priceless, matchless, unparalleled memory for you!

HAHA!! She's a feisty one. I would say "You're gonna have your hands full." but it would seem that you already do. Good luck with her! :)

SO cute! My daughter used to say, "Mom we need to get rid of the bench. Let's just sell it." She doesn't have to use it much anymore. But she despises it when she does!

She will be so proud when she is 17 and can look back at your blog. I love what she said to you, and reading yesterday's post, I love that you taught her about man-eating lions. So funny.

I used to think that time outs were silly buit now that I have an almost 3 year old I think they are great. I love how you have documented this for future embarassment later. You know when she is a teenager and brings home her first boyfriend.

I'm not sure whether to say poor baby or poor mommy on this one. I've been told it gets better... in like 18 years or something...

Remi is a riot! Seriously hilarious. I love the continuous time out photos.

forget the time-outs....

I love, love, love that girls haircut. the back is super cute and sassy. maybe that's the problem, she's got that sassy little haircut so she needs the 'tude to go with it?

Mrs4444 said...

Okay, not to brag, but Kendall was only sassy like that one time; she was that same age, and she had decided to try on a pair of Smartypants. She was irritated with me and said, "How about if I...slap you in your face?!" Needless to say, no slapping ensued, but she did get a timeout. Apparently, she didn't like it AT ALL. Adorable post!

I have one of those around here. A two-year-old I mean. Today when I was changing his diaper he screamed, "spanky spanky meow meow", at me.
I don't know what that means.
Since you also have a two-year-old I thought you might.
Thanks.

Oh I LOVE that...it reminds me of the time our friends son, 2 also, put his hands on his hips when mommy told him to turn off Franklin and go upstairs...and said 'My you're being sassy tonight mommy!'
We were in the room and had to clap our hands to our mouth to keep from busting a gut!
Oh, they are a handful at times!
