I.

I AM ...wondering what it would be like to be Micheal Phelps and be told, "You must consume between 8,000 to 10,000 calories a day. No exceptions." And I'm wondering why my water aerobics instructor never instructed me to do that during those five days in a row that I did water aerobics.

I WANT... Deanna Smith Havard, who has been reading my blog, to leave me an email message so I will know how to get in touch with her! Otherwise, I will not be able to reconnect with the one person who tried to help me make cheerleader by telling me, "Oh my God - you would be an incredible base for our pyramid." HI!! Email me!! Please!

I HAVE ... never officially gotten over the clown scene in Poltergeist. Nor forgiven the mom who let a bunch of 12 year olds watch it at a sleep over.

I WISH I COULD ... go under water without holding my nose.

I HATE ... having to "keep the conversation going" with someone. Hold your own. Speak up. Have a personality. Sheesh.

I FEAR ... ever being without The Attorney General.

I HEAR ... people say I'm hard to figure out. I'm not.

I SEARCH ... for ways to save money at the grocery store. But I'm not really pleased with any of the experts suggestions. So I stick with my plan; buy what I want and buy twice as much as I need.

I DON'T THINK ... I will ever get tired of chili-dogs or game nights with my friends and family.

I REGRET ... that I didn't use better wisdom in certain relationships. That I didn't listen to my heart when it was screaming at me. Man, I regret that.

I LOVE ... driving with the windows down. In the Fall. On a Sunday afternoon. With a Sonic drink in my hand. With my husband.

I ACHE FOR ... my mom and dad to move here.

I ALWAYS CRY ... when I've hurt someone I love. Always. And then I get really, really sick to my stomach.

I AM NOT ... weak. At all.

I DANCE ... whenever I am forced at gunpoint (which believe it or not, has never happened.) Or whenever I hear the song, "Footloose."

I SING ... at the drop of a hat. When I'm asked. When I'm not asked. In my car. To my baby. To my husband. You name it.

I NEVER ... go a day without worrying or obsessing about something. Not ever. Not a day.

I RARELY ... like doing anything one-on-one with someone (lunch, shopping, road trip, etc.) It makes me very nervous.

I CRY WHEN I WATCH ... those Johnson and Johnson commercials that say, "A baby changes everything."

I AM NOT ALWAYS ... sure that I won't end up on the mission field.

I HATE THAT ... I never tried out for the Mickey Mouse Club when I was 10.

I'M CONFUSED ABOUT ... people who: live in RV's, work at a carnivals, don't eat meat, live off the land, and jog.

I NEED ... to stretch my neck out a whole lot more. Take more risks. Have no fear of failure. Get busy.

I SHOULD ... remind you that you are more than welcome to steal this from me and do it on your blog. After all, I did. (And though I can't remember who I stole it from - I "thank you" nonetheless.)

I DID try out for the Mickey Mouse Club when I was about 12....talk about let down! I waltzed in there like I was going to be the next big thing and was actually just another thing going through the process.

Happy Friday...your list really made me think about some things in my own life.

Great post! I may have to give that a try sometime.

Sorry that I "confuse" you. (vegetarian jogger here) :)

And I totally get it about the mission field. I'm leaving in October to go to Kenya again for two weeks. I've been thinking about it constantly since I came back last year....

Hope you're recovering well!

I am cracking up here...I was just busting a move to "Footloose" in my kitchen the other day, with Gabe in the background yelling "Mommy, stop dancing!". I think I scared him. Yeah, I don't really dance much, but that song just makes you wanna move!

This is a great post! I love it!

I may just copy you, soon. Imitation is the best form of flattery, hey?
My mom and dad saw Poltergeist in the theaters and when she came home, she freaked out and threw my Ronald McDonald doll in the trash. Our family was the mirror image of that family. Hippie parents, much older daughter, frail little boy and blond headed girl. My sister looked so much like Carol Anne, my mom wouldn't let her sit too close to the TV. One of these days I'm going to post about it. I just need to get that darn scanner hooked up!
BTW, you will email me the minute you eat the Cinncinati Chili, right? Whether you love it or hate it, I want to know what you think.....

I love this post. I may just have to copy it myself as well. It really makes you think.

have a great day. God Bless!

I love posts that are all about you! Thanks for sharing all these statements and letting us know you better. The one thing I find odd is that you don't like being one on one with friends. That's one of my favorite ways to hang out with people.

Cute. I will be stealing this!

Aww! I found your blog from a friend...this post is great. I ALWAYS cry during those Johnson & Johnson commercials. It could be the millionth time I've heard "who knew boys night in would be so much better than boys night out" and I bawl every.single.time!

Ok, now Melissa...you say "I Sing....when I am asked....", but you won't post a video or mp3 of you singing for all of us who have asked to hear you sing, but we don't live near you or go to your church!!! So, wassup wid dat??? :)

I never realized that someone could be nervous doing something one-on-one with someone. I would MUCH prefer to be with just one other person than a group. Then there is no awkwardness about what to talk about. I can talk about anything I feel comfortable talking about with you and can ask you about anything you've shared with me. In a group, I never know if I should ask about something cuz I don't know if the other people know about it or not.

Huring people I love kills me inside too. I feel like Im not worthy of living when I do it!

But girl, you rock that lunch lady look! :) I have been praying for you all week!

3 things:

I love you and you will spend time with me one of these days one on one. I will not make you nervous.

I don't eat meat. Red meat. HA! So there. But don't be confused. Its not by choice. It rips up my stomach and makes me ill.

And third of all, I'm stealing this idea. I love it.

The Clown scene---the clown scene!!!! Awwhhhhhh! Yea! And when our first daughter was born, even though we did the nursery in bunnies, people kept giving us CLOWN stuff! Clown mobile, HUGE clown doll, clown jammies, clown stuffed doll--YIKES!!! Didn't these people ever see the movie?!? Puhlllease!
Blessings!

Oh, I completely understand people who live in RV's. One of my dreams is to buy one (luxury beast , of course) and spend a racing season following the NASCAR circuit. I would totally stalk Dale Earnhardt Jr. :-)

I can totally understand wanting to live off the land...as long as I can hit a drive through occasionally. hehe A Starbucks too.

I think it's hilarious you sing at the drop of a hat but don't dance. That confuses me! I'm too shy to do either.

I've seen this meme several times now and usually just skim (FAST) over it, because most of them are all crammed together and I just don't have the patience for them. Yours is not only visually appealing, but also engaging. You're such a sweetheart (did I say that? I meant HARDASS, JK) Thanks for being willing to be vulnerable; I guess that goes along with your relative fearlessness, but I love that about you. :)

Anonymous said...

I.

Am totally swiping this meme.

LOVE IT.

LOVE your blog.

I'm glad that I know you (er... randomly blog-stalk you). I feel that you and I are kindred spirits :)
And, on that note, I have something for you over at my blog :)

Okay, I have a confession.....I stole this and put it on my blog. Man, it was a lot harder than I thought. Maybe you could take a hop, skip and a jump over and let me know what ya think!!!

Britt said...

Awesome post girl! I am definitely stealing this idea but I am definitely giving you credit too ;)

I love Footloose. I use to listen to the entire record (yes - record) regularly.

I stole the meme and gave you the credit! Thanks - it was fun!
