Pictures and Mental Pictures.

Okay, you have to admit....that is one cute kid.

So Stephanie Davis is one of those photographers who takes pictures BETTER than the ones you imagined in your head.

Ya know, like I get there and I say, "Hey, Steph. Let's take a picture of Remi standing still and smiling." And then Stephanie will say something like, "Well, Melissa. Standing and smiling is a little old school, so let's try something more creative." And she will!

Thank God I'm not taking pictures or everyone would look like they were in an Olan Mills church directory picture. We would all be wearing denim and there would always be a huge potted plant in the corner.

She posted some more of Remi on her blog and I swear, I don't know when she took them. She is taking pictures when you don't even realize it. Once I thought I saw her looking in her purse and talking on her cell, but she was taking pictures with her knees the entire time.

Okay, so that's a blatant lie. But it helps add some mystique' to her. If you live in or near Dallas and have yet to hire her. Why not?

I went and had blood drawn this morning so my doctor could see how my "levels" were. That has nothing to do with how cute Remi is, but I just figured ya'll would want to know. I KNOW they will come back fine. Y'all done went and got me all charged up! And full of faith. I'll keep you posted, though.

And lastly, on this busy Friday, let me leave you with this mental picture...

Yesterday I am scurrying around the house picking up the exact same toys I had picked up only minutes earlier. Remi is sitting, spellbound, on the couch watching Max and Ruby. (Don't even get me started on those two.)

Since I'm busy working around the house I had made myself a little more comfortable in a loose fitting t-shirt and, well, let's just say no, uhhhhh, BRA. Okay. There, I said it.

Hey! It was hot. And no one else was there. And I was cleaning. And yes, my momma raised me better. Can we move on?

So as Remi sits spellbound I bend over right in front of her to pick up McDonald's Happy Meal toy #37. And apparently I bent over DIRECTLY in front of her because all I see are her two huge eyes looking straight down my shirt and I hear,

"Ohhhhh. My. Goodness."

Happy Friday, y'all.

I got one for ya. I'm home alone last Thursday afternoon(first time in like forever, as I work 3rd shift and they are all AWAKE and LOUD when I am trying to sleep), and I put the radio on while I'm on my hands and knees, scrubbing the bathroom floor (first time in like forever, but I digress)... I am wearing panties (CLEAN, I promise) and and old T-shirt of the beloved's, sans support apparatus (hey, 92 degrees plus 100 percent humidity in NYC = naked most of the time. I showed a little decorum, at least). I am shaking my bee-hind (and about 85 folds of cellulite) as I scrub, and singing along to "Lady Marmalade" (original LaBelle version) and having a grand old time.

I swear to God I never heard them come home. But I nearly jumped out of my skin, and died of shame, when I heard the four year old squeak, "Daddy, take a picture, quick!" Rotten pair of them, with the cell phone (who the ^&*&(* invented CAMERAS for those things?), recording my posterior for posterity.

Yeah.

You made me giggle out loud. I have been pumping for my youngest son and my daughter came up once when I was doing it and caught me before I could cover myself. She looked at me with wide eyes and goes "ouch, ouch, ouch."

She's so cute and Too freakin funny!

Also, I just went over to check out the rest of the pictures. Remi's smile is absolutely infectious! You should post a new pic of her every day so I can have a jolt of happy :)

Hey, at least she didn't start screaming, "My eyes! My eyes!"

Ah....out of the mouth of babes....
They are so cute, but have a way of sticking it to us, don't they?!
Glad all is going well for you!!

Luckily my almost 2 year old cannot talk or we'd hear all sorts of things... but my 3 year old... these are phrases "uttered" in the past few months...

"Why do you have 2 Pee-pee's"

"Which one is chocolate?"

"Is that where the babies are?" (there are NO BABIES)

"Are those uthers?" (translation: utters...after watching a show about cows)
Goiing to look at Remster's pics... and we have a mom dislike/daughter love of Max and Ruby too.

I went over and checked out Stephanie's blog. That's exactly what I want for K-man's prof pics! I'll have to work on getting that set up.

You're surrounded with prayers. I think of you on and off throughout the day and talk to God about it.

And the no-bra thing....I love going natural around the house! When my milk came in after Kelton was born, I could have sworn I was part Jersey. I stood in the front of the mirror three days later and stared. My husband stood there and stared. And the only thing I could think was Oh.My.Gosh. I could go on, but I'll leave it with the statement that I've learned to embrace the new endowement. :)

Funny stuff as always...I wish I could remember when mine says funny stuff. I am usually so horrified I immediately remove it from my memory.
I am happy to hear that others now have to suffer the pain of Ruby - I had to and let me tell you it will end someday.

LOL! Remi will survive. But I totally know how you feel. My summer "uniform" around the house is hubby's old boxers (with undies, I promise) and his or my loosest t-shirts. It's too hot for anything else. And yeah, I pretty much live in constant fear that someone will come to my front (glass) door, unannounced :-) But hey, you gotta do what you gotta do!

Praying for your test results to be absolutely normal. Love and hugs!

The BEST BEST BEST time of day is when I get home from work, take off the fancy shmancy work clothes, and TAKE OF MY BRA... *sigh*...

Sometime i'll have to post my tale about my kneecaps.

Still praying for you, and so is Sister Sarah.

I have a BAD habit of running around un-dressed. One day, I had been cleaning house, and had just put the last load, towels, in the dryer. Jumped in the shower, realized my towels were in the dryer so went streaking through to get one. Did NOT realize cute NEW neighbor boy was sitting on his back porch, relaxing, when boy-oh-boy, did HE get an eyeful!! The really bad part? He's telling his friend, his wife hears, and it's one of my friends!! I learned to cover up!

My best friends little girl is hysterical. Whenever I pick her up, it usually ends up pulling my shirt down. She "Uh oh! No Boobies!", and pulls my shirt back up for me. I love kids . . .

What a hoot(er)!

Remi is a doll :-)

Prayed for you today!!!

By the way, I know that it is hard to believe but someday you'll WISH Remi was hanging out watching those shows that so get on your nerves now. I often look at my two big boys and long for the Elmo and Blue's Clues days.

Its not hard to get a good photo when you have such a cute subject, she is ADORABLE! :)

A few bullett points:
- The pictures are awesome and I am thinking of driving the 4 1/2 hours to get this girl to take my family photos. AWESOME!
- My son loves Max & Ruby but I always think to myself when I am watching it "Where are these kids mom?". Is Ruby raising herself and her brother? Just a little disfunctional if you ask me. Someone should call BPS (bunnie protective services).
- Yes, everything will be perfect with your blood tests. Keep the faith, girlfriend!
- If you think wearing a t-shirt and no bra while cleaning is bad, I think I have you beat. I am a naked cleaner. It's not pretty but it's what I do. I know TMI (too much information). My Bad!

I love how Stephanie either cut the AG off the picture or only had his back showing! What's up with that?

Anyway, the photos are adorable - just like Remi!

Had lunch with your Mom, Mal,Michelle and Scott yesterday at Chen's. We had a great visit. Your Mother entertained as usual.

I am so happy for you and David about the baby. I am praying for you and will ask my church family to pray, also. Here at work, I've asked some of the ladies to pray, also.

I know God has GREAT THINGS in store for you. He has promised to give us the desires of our heart, and all of His promises are YES and AMEN!

Love you lots!

Your "levels" are fine.....so have a great weekend!!!!

Praying for good levels!

And at least you have something to "show". My kids run screaming from the room should they see me in my "underthings"....and no, I'm not kidding at all....

My kids are old enough now to feel naseous if they suspect I even have a body.

Praying for those levels!

I don't have anything profound to say. . . I just think you are funny. And those pics of Remi are adorable. I tried the throw the kid in the air and take a picture trick with my youngest once, but they were quite as cute. (My fault--the cuteness of my baby is not in question. If you are not sure just ask her if she is cute. She will promptyly smile and say. "Yes, and even better, I'm smart too!"

Laura said...

The photos are precious; I checked out the lot on Stephanie's site too. Beautiful!

You're still on my prayer list. And I've been doing like the Good Book says, praying without ceasing.

I don't know what it is about kids and boobs. I don't have any, yet, kids that is--I do have boobs. Three, if you count my husband. But anyways, my nieces and nephews have always been fascinated by all boobs they encounter. The best is always when they're about three and a half and can vocalize their opinions about the boobs of strangers in the store. At that point I always make it a point to ask, "Where's your mother?" just to clarify that I did not raise this child who just asked why your boobs are so big or little or on a man.

Lisa@BlessedwithGrace said...

Okay, LOL about the boob incident. If my daughter could talk, she's only one, she would say that a bunch!
Secondly, I went over to view the awesome pictures. She does have an eye. They are awesome. BTW, I know for a fact, I am wearing the exact white shirt at this very moment. I looked at you in the picture with Remi, then looked down at my shirt, then back to the picture, then back to my shirt. You get the idea. I knew we were soul SITSta!

Girl..my momma raised me to know how to be comfortable! I never wear my bra at home..EVER. Well, unless there are non family members there. So..you go girl. Love the picture of Remi. I live about 2 hours from Dallas and want to hire her..what is her blog address?

Melissa-
First off let me say Congratulations on the pregnancy and I will definitely add a link in that prayer chain...lifting you in prayer before the throne. I know firsthand how the power of prayer moves mountains.
I had a lot of reading to get caught up on...Let me just say I love the pictures of Remi on your friend's blog. She has an artistic style that resembles my daughter's photographic style. Your family is beautiful.
I laughed my @ss off with the visual you painted...of leaning over in front of your daughter while picking up toys. You crack me up.
Regarding the comment you left on my blog about my husband cutting the grass at the beach: My MIL owns lakeshore property which has a beach...but it also has grass, trees, and a building on it. Sorry for the confusion.

You can't beat Stephanie! She left us though...and by left, I mean she up and left Lufkin, and she is irreplaceable. So, like my fashion, the pictures of my boys are two years old.

Oh well, they were sweeter then!

What beautiful pictures of a beautiful girl!

My little 2 year old master of the obvious would have said, "You have a chest. You see that chest right there?"

(I'm SO glad I taught her to say "chest" as opposed to other options, as it comes out in public quite frequently).
