Dear One.

To My Dear Friend (who by all accounts and purposes has yet to figure out how to turn her computer on, much less check this blog site),

I've known you for years now.

I knew you when you drove that horrendous green van (until I wrecked it.)
I knew you when I would come over and crawl in your bed and sob and moan and you would just listen.
I've known you over much sushi.
And I've known you over many a girls nights and many a movie...

And I wouldn't trade a minute of any of it.

But today, none of that matters. Today the only thing that matters is that you know this...
I. Am. Here.

Every minute that I've been your friend you have encouraged me.
Every minute that I've known you, you've looked out for me.
Every year that we've been friends you've been the prayer that covered me.

Let me do that for you now.

Please.

Scripture says, "Evening and morning and at noon I will utter my complaint and moan and sigh, and He will hear my voice." (Ps. 55:17) Of this, we can be assured.

I am standing in the gap for you, my friend.

Because I love you. And because I owe you. And because I could never ever repay the kindness you've shown to me and the friend you've been to me. So if I could sing for you right now, I would sing this...

I heard that you were hurting
That you were suffering pain
But I didn't dare just turn my head
And look the other way
For when your heart is aching
My heart is aching too
Let me help you bear your burden
That's the least that I can do

I'll be standing in the gap for you
Just remember someone, somewhere is praying for you
Calling out your name
Praying for your strength
I'll be standing in the gap for you

Right now you may be troubled
But everything will work out fine
For the Spirit knows before you speak
What is on your heart and mind
So I'll be interceding
Til your standing strong again
The peace that passes understanding
Is going to be yours, but until then..

I'll be standing in the gap for you
Just remember someone, somewhere is praying for you
Calling out your name
Praying for your strength
I'll be standing in the gap for you

So hang on my friend
It won't be long
And you have the strength
To carry on
For when two or three are walking together
It will be a much lighter load
For isn't that what a brother and a sister are for?

*Note to readers: Sorry to be cryptic, but if I were to share my dear friends name or her need - she would surely crawl in a hole and eat chocolate until she died. So I dare not. But considering that you're reading my blog right now, I count you as a friend. Won't you say a prayer for her today? She surely needs it. And there's not a one of you I don't trust with it. So today, just say, "Melissa's friend needs you, Lord. Be with her, as you are with me." Trust me, He knows exactly to what and to whom you're referring. Thank you, my lovelies.

I didn't need to hear any more than you needed to tell, my friend. I want for nothing(except maybe a milkshake and some french fries)! My prayers are going out to her tonight, of course.

I'll pray. And btw, I did pray on Sunday. I prayed, "Dear Lord, please don't let Melissa and the AG say anything to each other on the way home that they'll regret later." He's such a wonderful God that He is happy for us to talk to him about any friend with any need, what ever size it seems to be.

Ok. I prayed. I will keep praying. I want you to know that for some VERY odd reason I had a dream about you and the AG last night. Hmm? I think it must be because reading your blog was the last thing I did before bed last night..I hope thats why. Anyway-we were at a football game eating hot wings. That.is.all.I.remember. Blog stalker just took on a WHOLE new meaning didnt it?! LOL.

Lord, I pray that you will be with Melissa and her friend. Comfort them and provide for all their needs, so they in turn, can bring glory to you.

Precious Lord, I lift up Melissa and her friend to you tonight...especially her friend. I thank you Lord that you know what is weighing on her heart and know what she needs more than I know what to pray. Lord I ask that she feels your loving presence and experiences the peace beyond understanding that only you can provide. I thank you for putting Melissa in her life. I pray you give Melissa wisdom, patiences, and lots of love as she helps her friend through this valley. Thank you for how you are already working in the situation. It's your Son's name I pray,
~Amen
