Hey, mock her. Mock me.
Long before there was Mariah and her Vision of Love - there was Whitney. And I was as true to her as I was to my Joey McIntyre poster and my Swatch watch.
To this day I know every grunt, trill, roll and breath to How Will I Know...I remember falling asleep at night to Saving All My Love For You...and if you don't stand and salute when I Will Always Love You comes on, then you t'ain't no friend o' mine.
I tried to fix my hair like her. I learned every trick she did vocally and practiced them 3400 times a day. And to this day - when I'm feeling all showy and powerballady - I break out her vibrato. It has served me well.
Sure she isn't as fresh faced and vocally polished as she was at 25. But hey, who is? Still, tell me your thoughts. For her? Against her? Still like her? Or over her?
I promise never to do this to you again. Unless of course Celine falls off the face of the earth, marries someone from New Edition, becomes addicted to illegal drugs and then resurfaces like a Venus rising. Then, yes, I will be doing it to you again.

I actually forgot yesterday that she was going to be on Oprah but I did catch the last 15 minutes or so... I thought that she looked AMAZING considering the last time I saw her was on the reality show she did and she looked completely getto and strung out. I think props to her mama for giving her such a strong foundation that even in the midst of it all she knew that she was messed up and needed to "get back to Jesus". And props to her mama for saying, "I am not losing you to the world and to Satan. I want my daughter back." That's some tough words but they needed to be said. There is something about a mom speaking straight to you like that. All in all my synopsis is that I will always love you, Whitney. :)
Well, her vocal chops may not be what they were in say, "How Will I Know?" (my altime favorite Whitney song), but "I Look To You" is wonderful. She still looks fantastic. Yes, Whitney still has my vote.
I am so happy for her to have made the good choices which brought her out of her tough times. She is a beautiful lady.
Oh yes. Whitney was very much a part of me growing up. Let us not forget the Greatest Love of All. I mean really. I thought I was Whitney. My sister and I were OBSESSED with her music. I hope
she has gotten her life back. She was scaring me there for a while!
I went to her concert when i was in 8th grade! i saved and waited and was so excited to go! I love her. She is timeless....
Her journey is one of an example of why Chrsit did what he did. He took each of us and our sins and troubles and said.. no matter how far you go away, i will always be here when you come back!
I am so grateful for the grace and love of my Savior! I'm bettin she is, too!
She's starting to look like her aunt... haven't decided pro or con... can't get those reality images out of my mind.
Ive always loved Whitney! I was sad for her and what she had turned her life into. Now Im happy that she has come out of the darkness she was in! I hope that this is a new beginning for her! She looks fantastic!
Love her, love her, love her!! Momma and I used to sing I Wanna Dance With Somebody all the time :)
I saw the interview and it was good. My fav part was when O asked her who do you love? and she immediately said: the LORD, with deep conviction and that she was humbled that He never gave up on her. And that she still desired drugs sometimes and she had to pray it away. Love this song. I wish that would have been the one she did on O. O got on my nerves the whole time.
I'm much to spiritual and Christian to watch Oprah so I didn't get to see the interview.
hehehe.
I want to believe her, I really do. But there is something there-is it insincerity or just a humility that I'm not used to with her? I hope she knows the Lord-can you imagine a host of angels with her as their leader?
